Thank you all for your input and concern. I have a pretty good understanding now from looking through the scriptures because in the end, they are the only thing that matters because God's Word overrules all of man's opinions.

My only comment is that of Sentipente's. If God is not going to destroy any of his children, then you have some major explaining to do on this verse....

Revelation 20:9 - They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.

The lost are all God's children right now and one day they will be devoured by this Hell Fire. It is to plain and logically clear to miss this point.

Awesome young man  You continue to seek God through His word and you'll find the treasures of life.

This PMFA section of the forum currently have only a few SDA that consider the scriptures as the bottom line, so I hope for your sake that you're just passing through. What I'm trying to say is....Here the foundation of Christianity is debated by those with selective beliefs from the bible. These people just want to pull the rug out from under your feet rather than give Godly wisdom on a question you may have.

Luk 8:4And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

Luk 8:5A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Luk 8:6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

Luk 8:7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

Luk 8:8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Luk 8:9And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

Luk 8:10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

Luk 8:11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luk 8:13They on the rock [are they], which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luk 8:14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Luk 8:15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.

Live long and prosper

Crib... everyone who believes that the bible is the bottom line is selective in their application and adherence to what is found in the bible... including you.... so let's not pretend that there are people walking this earth that follow the bible 100%..... there are not...Likewise everyone who says they are giving "Godly wisdom" aren't, despite their intention to do so.... If you believe in God why not allow him to dispense his own wisdom? The more I read some of these religious discussions, the more I am inclined to believe George Carlin who said that Christians make God look weak, incompetent and always needing money.....

Why are you generalizing?

Deliberately giving the wrong impression is a violation of principles of the same Book you claim to hold in such high esteem. Stop the prancing. It does not befit you.

Just think of all the other logical texts you ignore in order to cling to these ones then ask yourself which group of texts more accurately matches the God you claim to believe in.

Pretty much all of the book of Revelation has to take a good deal of explanation. Why point to the above verse instead of the verses which if taken literally indicate God killing 1/3 of people before the second coming.

The big question is why do so many people take a highly symbolic book written in a style that is never known to be literal take it literally? It is not like those things have happened, that they are history we can observe. No they are at best predictions yet, throughout the history of the Christian church we have never understood a prediction enough to say that something predicted was to occur in this specific way. And at least our inability to explain how a prediction will be fulfilled is an historically observed fact. Why is the prediction of people who are always wrong somehow to be viewed as more Biblical then those who don't try to predict how future events will occur or how could their predictions of future outcomes be any more wrong then the other folks wrong prediction interpretations?

The answer of course is that some people simply have faith in their predictive interpretations as if that is somehow more important. However God does not ask you to have faith in your chosen method of interpreting a prediction, God asks for a faith in God.
