Need prayers for depression . . .

I've been sooo down in the dumps lately. I've prayed numerous times throughout the day, while keeping my bible handy, but I still feel so small. I know that in time God works in his own way-a way that in the end is for the best, but I only want to smile. Please pray for me. Think of me. If any of you have had severe depression, you know where I'm coming from . . .You don't want to get out of bed, you don't want to do ANYTHING! I just can't seem to snap out of it. I'm on my knees . . .I just need a "TRUE" friend. I'm close with God these days, but I need someone else that can talk back . . LOL. I hope someone is out there.

Father God, I lift my sister up to You. I ask that You lift this depression and whisper Your hope and assurance to her heart. Please help her to find her total identity in You, and immerse herself in Your Word and Your people. I ask that You strengthen, encourage and give her peace. While I've never suffered severe depression, I have had small glimpses of what it might be like. I too have had days where I'm just too down to really want to do anything. I firmly believe that God will get you through this. I will keep you in my prayers. I pray that, like other forms of trials and persecution, you will emerge with a stronger faith and closer walk with Him.
