Thanks, y'all. I am getting pretty good at recognizing the symptoms, and I just dread going to the doctor for this again.
Although, I did have some fun with the nurses the last time I went in for surgery.
They had prepped me and put me on the gurney to wheel me down to Surgery. I was still awake, which I thought was odd since the previous two times they had put me under in PreOp. Anyway, we're rolling down the long endless corridor and I'm getting the jitters, so I start talking. There is a male and a female nurse walking with me. I look up at the female nurse and say, "You know...I might not live through this. Could you guys do me a favor?" They look at me kinda funny and the male nurse says, "What do you mean? You'll be fine." I said, "Yeah, but just in case...I've had this fantasy for a long time about doing this one thing on a hospital gurney." Everybody's eyebrows go up and I'm trying to keep a straight face. "Would one of you guys jump up here with me and yell 'STAT!' while the other runs through some swinging doors? Please?"
You should have seen the look on the Anesthesiologist's face when we all come into surgery laughing! LOL! The female nurse was almost crying!
I get goofy when I'm nervous.
