Would you mind sending us the transcript? It should only be a few sentences.

I guess he didn't get the answer he wanted. I wonder if he ever will. I suggest we all send him some helpful PM's. :)

I already wasted enough of my life being genuinely helpful when:

A.) I don't agree with a literal interpretation of Genesis

and

B.) I don't really care about other people's debates.

So no private messages for me.

How sad it is that kids these days are so intellectually lazy they feel that instead of doing actual research and learning about a subject for themselves, they should just log on to a message board and ask everyone to do their homework for them.

That is not a sad, however, as when someone who clearly knows nothing about an issue he wishes to debate is given solid and salient advice on the position he has chosen to defend that all he can do is denigrate the intelligence of those who took the time to reply.

Good luck bebop, and I don't just mean in your debate. Life's going to be pretty hard on you for the next few years if you maintain the outlook you have regading learning, taking advice and preparing for class assignments.

Don't you all regret giving advice to this kid? I don't think he listened to a word of it. Several people made a sincere effort to help him. I wonder if he could correctly identify who taught us to "do onto others as you would have done onto you"?

If this is an example of what will happen in the debate, your opponent shouldn't have a problem. :)

For proving genesis literal, I agree with others, start going on and on about hebrew definitions and throw in a little "without a literal adam, jesus wouldn't be around because he traces his lineage to adam" falacy, and then follow it up with the ironic, "if the flood was local, then god lied and went back on his promise that he would never cause a flood again."

:)

Excellent

Is there anyone who has that post with the huge list of YEC and literal genesis falsifications in it? I can't seem to find it.

In my opinion, if you are debating a creationist your best bet is to immedeately go on the offensive, as a creationist can throw so many fallacies into a small space that refuting them with such limited time is hopeless.

Here are few of the many falsifications of the myth of a worldwide flood. Some are from discussions here and some from other sources.

They inculde falsifications from the science of geology

and other branches of science.

You can find detailed descriptions falsifications of the young earth and global flood on sites such as Creation Science and Earth History, which not only presents falsifications of the flood but discusses the mistakes, ommissions and distortions from Creationist "geologists" trying to defend the flood.

http://www.geocities.com/earthhistory/

Former YEC Glenn Morton lists a number of falsifications of the global flood mostly from data he collected during his years working in the oil industry.

http://home.entouch.net/dmd/fld.htm

http://home.entouch.net/dmd/geology.htm

And of coures there is the famous problems with a global flood page on TalkOrigins

http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-noahs-ark.html

There is an alleged rebutal of this page on the grossly misnamed TrueOrigin Archive by Jonathan Sarfati of AiG. It is easy to analize this rebutal to provide further confirmation of the bankruptcy of "Flood Geology" but I don't have time now. However, anyone who brings it up should be prepared to see it smashed.

I strongly suggest that anyone who believes in a recent global flood read Glenn Morton's story

http://home.entouch.net/dmd/gstory.htm

and ponder its implications for "flood geology".

There have been other YECs who went into the world to study geology and found that they had be deceived by YEC "scientists". Davis Young is the first that comes to mind right now but I have a list of others.

That only shows that your opponent was ill-prepared. It doesn't mean the creation myth actually happened.

And until you can debate and debunk people with degrees in the field, this little "victory" means nothing.
