Need Help with stories

So I'm doing a little workshop at my retreat in 2 weeks about "surpassing our limits" basically what the pastor is concerned with is that the college kids are being lazy with their faith, always just doing the bare minimum. so i need some stories about people( you or someone you know) who went the extra mile in their faith and had something amazing happen.

If there are young adults that are being "lazy with their faith" it's probably because they've seen the older generations being lazy. That's for a different post though!

If you're going for historical stories Hudson Taylor and William Carey went above and beyond anything most Christians would do. D.L. Moody is another modern example.
