  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I like Gilbert as a first name (since I am a HUGE Anne of Green Gables fan).

And I like Charles as a middle name.

I think they sound good that way...Gilbert Charles. I like the nickname Gil, but not so much Bert...though there is an It's A WOnderful Life tie in.... I think Charles as a first name is a little riskier--because I really would never want my child to be called Chuck. I don't know about George...not a big fan of the Georges Bush...and that is like all that name makes me think of...I think it would be different if it was a family name for us....

well they are all three family names... george was an uncle that passed away a few years ago, (george WAshington Stansbury) gilbert (although I think it is two l's not one, but this is the way ken spelled it earlier) for another uncle who passed away recently ( grover gilbert cornwell) and charles is ken's middle name as well as was my granfather's first name (charles norman...he generally went by norman or CN)

Maybe you should wait until you see your son face to face. You might look at him and just know that his name is Charles (for example) and then the other two names will just fall into place.

I think this is the best idea.
