Need help making website for God

Hey everyone,

Basically I'm after some

from someone (or possibly even a collaboration). I started to make a website over a year and a half ago now, called 'God and Spirituality'.

I am about 70% through making it but I have run into a couple of problems, time restraints etc. I am using Microsoft Publisher and the biggest problem is that the pages dont work properly in different screen resolutions. This has caused me to slack a bit and lose interest in the project.

However I really need to get this finished as it is so close to completion, and it is vitally important that I finish it for the purpose of glorifying God further.

Is there anyone out there who can either give me some advice or is willing to help out with this project? It would be greatly appreciated (and possibly rewarded). Either reply here or email me at: chris_palmer@planet-save.com

I would love to help. I know I'm only 14, but I would really love to help. I run many sites myself. And have some experiment in building sites for others as well.

And it might be a little easier for me because of my tools I have. I have Photoshop CS which is really nice (create photos) and dreamweaver MX 2004 and other cool tools. But yeah, your about an get an email.

Also, I have Microsoft Publisher and it can be a pain to use. The templates they use can be tricky.

And you talked about the screen resolution problem. Well, if you can help it, put the sites screen resolution at 800x600. That’s the best to use. Then your site will look good in almost any browser/screen resolution.

MS Publisher is no good for websites! It's buggy, and makes a real hassle out of it!

Agree with 800 x 600 resolution - put your content in a TABLE and center it on screen, that way it's always going to look good in any browser/screen res, and if someone resizes the browser below 800, then it won't mess your content up because scroll bars will be added.

After getting fed up with WYSIWYG editors - I now write all my HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc in Windows Notepad - it's fool proof and doesn't add unwanted code! For images and graphics I use a combination of PaintShop, MS Visio and Adobe Illustrator - as they have inherent strengths and weaknesses. And I save all my images to PNG format by choice.

What do you need doing to finish it off then, and is the site already running somewhere where we can have a look at it?

PNG appears to download faster, and typically produces a smaller filesize whilst keeping a high resolution. I don't have any animations, but you're right, you'd need to use Gif, as Png does not support it.

Does anyone know where I can find a free christian hompage site or domain? Any way to make free christian site. A friend told me about something like this with kingdom in the name but I dont remember what he said.

I had been trying for ages to find a free hosting service where I could set up my own Christian based web site using various scripting languages.

I couldn't find one so I've started my own.

I am running my own web server at Jesus Internet.
(Can not presently post external links!)
