  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everybody.

I have been choosen to do bible study for a group of 15 people during a retreat. I have never written a bible study before and im having a bit of trouble writting one.

The theme of our retreat is "Reliance". If one person does not contribute towards the community then the whole community suffers.

Does anybody know any good bible passages that i can write a bible study on?

Also feel free to give tips on how to write a bible study.

Thank you so much. God Bless

"Reliance" as in God is faithful to deliver His people from the hand of the evil one?

Use the example of Joseph who was sold into slavery because his brothers were jealous of him. He maintained his faith and loyalty to God throughout the whole ordeal, and as a result of this he was exalted by God, and was thus used to preserve the lives of God's people. He could have given up on God, but instead he chose to rely on Him by remaining faithful to Him. It was because of this that Jospeh was delivered, and was used in a mighty way by God.

As a matter of fact, the theme of reliance is disclosed throughout the whole story, not merely with Joseph, but also with God's people in general, and even God's enemies for that matter! If it weren't for God the Pharaoh, along with all of his people, would have been wiped out by the famine.

Thus reliance on God is not an option, but a necessity of life.

When you put the study together send it to me via PM, and I will critique it for you.
