  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone, Im new to this site and love it so far.

My question may sound silly to some who were raised Pentecostal but I was raised very old school/old country (Italy) RC and then became Born Again in '98.

I am having a hard time differenciating between the Pentecostal and Evangelical/Apostolistic churches.

I attend both types of churches. The only difference I see is the way that the ministers preach.

Both churches are bible based and believe in restoration and renewal of the body and spirit of Christ in ourselves.

Can anyone tell me what the theological or doctrinal differences are?

Thanks,
-Jen

Pentecostals believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit as written in 1 Co 12. Some Evangelical churches do, some don't. The ones who don't generally think those things passed when the canon of scripture was completed.
