  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a friend who really wants to be saved. She knows all about the bible and how to live. Heck, she even turned me on to being saved. I never knew anything about being saved before I met her. She has so much knowledge and she really wants to follow God, but for some reason, she dosen't know how to make the first step. Any advice on this matter from you guys?

She won't be saved until she is judged? I never heard of that before. You are saved when you ask JEsus into your life and believe he is your saviour. So by your logic no one here is saved. There is no such thing as assurance. I have been to Assemblies of God, Baptist churches, and Evangelical Free churches all my life and have never heard that before. What denomination are you?

Juslisen,
Welcome to the forums!

As for your friend the first step is drawing closer to God, and asking for his forgivness. Knowing Gods word, and knowing him are two different things. She should pray for his guidance, and for understanding, It could be she knows Gods word but lacks the understanding that his spirit gives us.

I pray God will open her eyes and give her the understanding she needs.

God is our greatest teacher of all, and only through him can we gain the deepest understanding of all.

Church is also important for fellowship, and God uses the church to help teach, guide us, confirm his word, and the gifts he gives us.

Really doesn't matter Allie. It really should be moved to Missions and Evangelism. But these things are difficult in Forums where you have so many denominations and slants on salvation. It quickly turns into a "discussion" on what it means to be saved and how, and by the time the person who asked gets all the conflicting information, they don't know what to do.

It is very difficult to deal with these questions in an open forum. But you had the right idea and you are doing a fine job!

But this one is very confusing in the first place. How do you "turn someone else on to being saved" when you don't know how your self? If this one "knows all about jesus and the Bible and stuff", then it is a simple matter. Read John 3:16 and Romans 10:9,10 and do what it says. It is really that simple. Beyond that there are things to do, but nothing else matters till that is done. May the Precious Holy Spirit guide this one in this process in , by, and through the Sweet Name of Jesus.

First, she must confess that she is a sinner, and pray and ask God to forgive her, and accept Jesus Christ into her heart. Then she needs to find a Bible believing church and attend service. Then she needs to be Baptized and commit herself to serving God. Baptism is the outward show that you have accepted Christ into your heart, and that you are not ashamed to let people know. Then try to live according to Gods laws, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, never ceasing in prayer, and thanksgiving. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths. God Bless
