  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am 32 and have barely worked enough. I am in the health care field and have both associate and bachelors degrees, Not bragging, promise. Married for 7 years with 3 little ones, 6, 2 1/2, & 1. I have been home over a year. Mostly because I relocated and was 6 months pregnant. Now, our baby just turned 1. I am ready to go back to work and can't seem to be going anywhere. I am close to depression, yet holding on. Tired of living on paycheck to pay check, which will continue if my husband is the only worker. I'm I being ungrateful? I mean for two years I was the only one working, now my hubby finally got work, but I'm not working. When will it work for both of us to be working and have care for our children?

Did I mention we live with my in-laws, who are wonderful people, thank God? I don't want just another job, I want and need a career that pays adult salary and gives me challenges and growth potential as well as benefits. Hard economy or not, we are the children of a king, therefore this should be a piece of cake. I'm I getting greedy?

Ladies and gentlemen of God, what do you think?

Pray- always start with prayer .... Where do you feel called to? Do you have something that you love to do and would do for free? What is your degree in?

Personally I struggle with work - I work in advertising and recently started a christian clothing company on the side ... but I dont enjoy my job ... I feel like I add to the problem of being in a society that is too often sold to .... I mean look above this post and you have two ads ... but rent is due, my wife is at home and preggo with (my 3rd) our first baby .... When the opportunity presents itself I will start a sports outreach as I love sports, love serving, and was saved by the use of sports outreach .... God wants us to serve a purpose at our jobs/careers other than make a living ... so if you can find that purpose I think you are well on your way. PTL for in-laws like that!

Thank you. My degree is in health care administration. Pretty much the business side of health care - managing, organizing, planning, etc. I don't know what I'd do for free yet. I would like to do something in health care consulting. Something that involves me having a one on one with patients and their family and helping them to find and obtain a greater quality of care. I especially have a soft spot for the elders and their care givers. It's about directing them to the proper and affordable level of care.

I have been praying, but it wasn't working as well. I realized that I needed alone time with the Lord, which required putting the flesh to subjection of the spirit through fasting. This week, I decided to fast, study his word more, and pray. It is has been refreshing and comforting. I am hoping for a breakthrough.

AWESOME!!! I did a fast about a 2 weeks ago to sort some things out and man does God make moves when He is your only focus!!

The health care and home health care industries are among tops as far as INC500's top growth industries so thats good! With the baby boomers retiring just around the corner you could really set yourself up for a quality business. Now you know your business better than I do but it really just boils down to what service you could provide and who pays the bill. I think being a consultant is also a great idea! I think God will give you a clear path to take even if its only one step at a time!

hope10, i hope you are feeling better about things. i can say that i am in your exact situation (except when we lost our house, we came to live my my parents, not my in-laws).

I went through a lot of heartache when we hit financial hardships because i was still trying to control my life. through much prayer and focus on God, i have recently come to be so grateful for my struggles. And trust me, we are struggling. My husband is out of work too.

But through it all, i have learned to release control and to have complete faith and trust that He will meet our needs. it's a promise!! And He has met our needs. We certainly want for a lot, but He's covered our needs beautifully and living through such hard times, i have a renewed passion to help others who might not have as much help as we have had.

that being said, it is VERY HARD and i will pray for your strength and perseverance.

God bless.

Thank you very much. I am learning to lean on the Lord more and more each day. Like you said, we want for much, but our needs are taken care of. There are more needs as things get harder, but I am trusting God to come through. I have yet to find a job, so your prayers are very much needed and appreciated.
