YAY I FOUND THINGS!

I was looking around in my curiousity... and I found... THIS!

Well, the bridge building guy used 'chou' that is (if I remember correctly) a colloquial term for very, ultra, mega, super, or one of those superlatives. Another similar term is mecha (not the mechanical anime style).

Naruto's style is '(verb stem)tte bayo!' For instance, wakattebayo is "I get it already" or nan dattebayo is "What (the heck) is that?" It is another colloquialism not linked to any specific dialect that is meant to make the speaker sound rough and brusque, not very refined, and trying to sound tougher than they really are.

Kenshin's 'de gozaru' is an antiquated, very polite way of saying 'desu' which is like 'it is' in English. Example:
Sou nan desu ka? (Is that so?) becomes Sou nan de gozaru (ka is implied).
Another antiquated style of this is to modify it to Sou nan de gozansu ka. That is more rare though.

And I know I complain about "Believe it!" all the time, but then I heard someone state, "I'm sure there are a good amount of Japanese fans that hate 'dattebayo!'".

But still, dattebayo has more than just one meaning, believe it!

I read a while ago that "dattebayo" means 'added emphasis' on whatever sentence it is placed after. And in Naruto's case, he says it after almost everything he says. Knowing his personality though, we know that he craves attention, respect, and acknowledgement from everyone, so he adds extra emphasis to everything he says to make sure they hear it and get it.

it's not bad at all, only to those who just like story...
fillers are OK in my opinion. I mean hey, just means more fight scenes than the manga offers.
More display of naruto's power, more time for sakura to actually start becoming useful... more parts to laugh at.

Fillers are more comical to watch, but eventually when the actual story line starts back up, we'll have the main story and mind blowing special events to entertain us again.
If waiting is getting me this pumped up to see the hot stuff again, then waiting i can do^^

I'd prefer not to have a "Ok, story, bam, bam boom! Ok it's over..."
I'd prefer to have, "Story, wow that was awesome, hey, fillers, ha! that was funny, oh hey, look, more story! woooh! that rocked"!

Just my opinion anyways XD
Believe it!

Yeah I'd have to go with the last one. Although I'll probabally be the one that if/when it comes out on DVD I'll be the one to buy it and watch it over and over and over again haha. I think Naruto is a cutie, I just hate how they pronounce the name, and is voice...ugh...the voice. That CAN'T be a man who does that voice lol

you're right, it's a woman. forget her name though, i posted the name in an earlier page on this topic...
though the voice for naruto in the japanese version is also a woman.
if you go to... the japanese phrase that naruto is always saying in japanese .com (sorry, but that's the best i can give since i'm not allowed to say the actual site :p) then there's like a "behind the scenes" thing for the show. Shows all the voice actors and all..

Naruto is going to have to be one the anime that I watch ONLY in japanese.... just like DBZ, Kenshin, Record of Lodoss War, etc..
Just seems better in Japanes to me.
Believe it!

Fillers are ok...to a certain extent. The amount of fillers that has been going on since the beginning of the summer - this coming spring is just way too much, not to mention extremely fillerific. The one thing I definitely can't stand about filler, though, is when they dont think ahead and then it interferes with the plot/detracts from it....

I honestly don't have a favorite anime, whatever I find interesting is my favorite, which means like... over 20 anime XD
Naruto just has awesome fighting in it... aswell as power display, like naruto's fox demon transformations, and techniques (sp?).

The fight between Naruto and Susuke was the absolute best fight scene in the series so far imo.
Believe it! (copy cat ><)
