NaNoWriMo?

I joined this morning after thinking about it last night! Hoping that this can help me to focus only on writing. I need to learn to stop editing WHILE the story is still in progress. I'm under 41,000 words in a novel I started a year ago! NaNoWriMo should be FUN!

My name on there is Triceradon.

Haha, not many days before we start... I already have a nice plot I think (plots never came hard to me). Now I just need more characters. I have one of the main characters (Michael) and his friend's personality... Don't know his friend's name yet. And I thought all of this up between yesterday and this morning.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm so scared!!!!!!

I've got color changing aliens that I haven't figure out yet, I haven't got my spaceships visualized enough, my hyperspaceworms are still confusing me, nothing has names, not to mention I have no idea where this story is going to go!

Am I doing all right so far?

Remember, half the fun of doing NaNo is not knowing what's going to happen next!

(So saith the girl who plotted out the whole book the other day. Not that I know how the conversations are going to go. I barely know any of my characters yet, ACK! But... I'm prepared for Monday, that's for sure!)

Ooooh, your novel sounds like my kind of read.

Now, I have nine characters that are definately going to be in the novel (of course, I'm going to HAVE to have more considering an entire community was abducted), but these nine will be the main... It's written in the first person point of view of two of them. Only seven of them are named! lol

Also, I surfed the net to look for photos to help me visualize what my characters would look like... Ha, only one of them is an actor's photo, and it's a perfect match. Ha. I'm also contemplating on making another character look like Eric Bana... but I'm not sure if that character will be a male or a female yet, so I can't really say yet... I need to decide now. I don't want to write the entire novel and say, "Oh, no, let me change their gender." Argh.

i'm so excited. i have it all planned but of course nothing's set in stone until it's written and even then it could change.

Why not? Could be fun, or interesting.

Though it might mess up romances if you have any...

I have 5.25 hours to go here... Mountain Time Zone.

But that's okay because I can't start writing at midnight anyway. I have to sleep so I can go to work in the morning.

We're having a Kickoff tomorrow night here in Calgary, and I'll be going! Are there groups in you guys' areas meeting for a Kickoff?

i wasn't able to make it. i lack motor transportation and the roomie wasn't around. i might be able to go to another one of the get togethers. i don't know. i can't start at midnight either. i'm probably going to go to bed in the next 2 hours or so. i have an 8 o'clock in the morning and i'd like to be up in time for it.

If all goes according to plan, I'll go heading to bed soon, and I'll wake up around 5:30am, so I can begin writing while there's silence in the house and I can focus my thoughts

Oh, and if you're interested, I decided to have the genderless character a female

i'm planning, LF. Flushing out the characters and doing some world building. Have written the first chapter and a prologue (edited, not the bits and pieces on the blog).

but i still need some good planning done. Guess why my other beginnings failed was due to the lack of planning.

can't wait! are you guys posting your stuff anywhere on the web? we can read each other's work, that would be fun.
