Good for her. It shows courage to finally do what is right.

Is it really courageous for her to stand up to herself and make herself do what she should have done in the first place?

She wasn't standing up to herself but to her party & their position of holding off. She finally made the courageous decision as the majority LEADER in her party, to stop stalling and send on the impeachment proceedings to the Senate.

Pelosi has about the same chance of being censured by the house that Donald Trump has of being convicted by a republican Senate.

Unless it becomes a secret ballot. Then he's toast:

“A straw in the wind was provided by former senator [Jeff] Flake of Arizona recently when he said if there was a secret ballot, there would be 30 to 35 votes to convict. Well, all you need is 20. I think from Senator Flake that was a trial balloon to plant the idea in Leader [Mitch] McConnell’s head that maybe a secret ballot would inform his judgment. If they go to a secret ballot, I think you could see some real movement.”
Bill Weld: Trump faces higher risk of removal if senators go to secret ballot

Without the threat of siccing his followers on republican senators, many of them would vote their consciences. And that would all that would be needed.

Luckily it doesn't work that way, eh? The GOP senators know better than to cross President Trump's base.

The trial will end with Trump still being the President. And I think the Democrats might pay dearly at the ballot box for this.

Only a few republican senators would have to side with the democrats to make it work that way. And yes, McConnell will be frantically working to make sure that senators won't be safe voting their consciences.

The GOP senators know better than to cross President Trump's base.

That was the lesson of 2016. They couldn't win without them, and they couldn't win with them.

Republican senators are considering the risks.
