n00b in the house

Hi all,

It's so great to finally find a Christian community online that is active. I am a 29 yo trucker in BC, Canada, married with 3 kids (one more on the way this month).

I am conservative theologically speaking, labelling myself as a Christian Hedonist. I adore theology and doctrine. I listen to sermons while I drive and love listening to preachers such as John Piper and Paul Washer.

Although I have a passion for God and truth, I struggle with sins lingering from my past. Lust is a big one. "Truckers mouth" tends to get the better of me as well. Especially at work.

Other than that I love to listen to music and read. I somehow have not been able to get into secular music/books for a while now. Just seems pointless or just plain wrong with some of the stuff. But I compensate by watching far too much TV unfortunately. Trying to cut back, it doesn't help in leading a pure life or overcomming sin.

Welcome to Christian Forums!! I am so glad that you found us and decided to join! CF is truly an amazing place to be, and I sure that you will discover that for yourself very soon. Since you like theology, I would recommend that you check out the Theology boards. You may also like the Edification and Life Stages boards. A nice feature of this forum is our Ask a Chaplain board. This board allows you to anonymously ask an ordained minister questions. The minister can see your ID incase he feels the need to get in touch with you, but other members on the forum will not know who you are.

I would also recommend that you check out the Blessings Exchange. This board allows you to play games and participate in fellowship threads to earn extra blessings, the site's currency. CF is currently undergoing a major update, and blessings do not currently play as big of a role as they normally would. When everything gets back to normal, you will be able to use your blessings for such things as purchasing items for your Living Avatar (Quick Links > Edit Avatar > Living Avatars), editing your signature or permanently changing your font.
