I generally understand myself to be a Christian and recently have gotten baptized. But I can still doubt my salvation. Two reasons: One, I have religious obsessive compulsive disorder. Christians with religious OCD tend to doubt their salvation. Two: a mystifying assertion that has been made by someone in response to some of my posts.
In my posts, I have said things like, "If I sincerely give my life to Christ, I'm saved, right?" But someone has responded with assertions such as: "You are not depending on Christ for your salvation. You are depending on you. You are making your sincerity the key to your salvation. But the key is not you, but the Savior." And things which in effect amount to: "You are you-oriented, not Christ-oriented."
I keep thinking about these assertions. They mystify me.
