I had lasiks done almost 6 yrs ago and have been back in glasses part time for the past yr. I did the contact thing for years and years and I didnt think I could go back to them because up until recently I was still weirded about about the who lasiks procedure and thinking about what they did. But I am thinking of going to get contacts cause I absolutly hate those glasses although they are no near as thick as what I had before surgery.

Is that covered by ins??
Lasik is not covered by most insurance plans because it is considered cosmetic. Some will cover a small portion but is usually isn't much.

Sorry I am an insurance nerd! LOL

Hey...I hope everyone is having a good day...I am definitely looking forward to getting off of work at 5:00...was having a great day and then a co-worker snapped at me for no apparent reason...maybe I'm too sensitive, it just seemed pretty disrespectful to me and it really hurt my feelings...I had to go in my office and :prayer: ...I feel better now and again...just really looking forward to the weekend...also...I am so glad to be a part of this forum...

I have heard it advertised as low as $200 an eye- but I bet the eyesight can't be very bad for that cheap. If you go make sure it is somewhere that the dr. stays. So many places are part of a network and the drs go from one place to the next and so when you go for followup care, your dr is no longer there. At least that is how the places around here are. I just think it would be a smoother process if you didn't have to meet with several doctors during your followup care.
