Do you have a favorite place that you'd like to retire to?

Personally, I'm narrowed down to Traverse City, Michigan or Asheville, North Carolina. Of course, I'd have to talk my church into moving with me - otherwise I stay where I am.

I'm thinking of retiring in North Carolina where it's not too hot, not too cold, has some mountains and the sea. A little bit of everything. :D

OK - now I don't mean this to be a morbid question, but . . . . assuming that all family members are safe, what one thing would you take with you if you had to evacuate your house in an emergency (i.e. housefire)?

(Since most people say photographs, assume they're ok and choose something else!)

Well, as you said that all members of my family will be safe, and being a very practical gal, the next thing I'm thinking about saving from being destroyed in an emergency would be legals papers. I've already had enough frustrations with the bureaucracy.
