You're not the first to draw that connection, but it's actually a contraction of my name.... Derick...Drk, prounounced dirk I suppose, is a nickname I got in school when a teacher couldn't figure out how to say Derick properly after numerous attempts. I'm not a super dork, only a marginal dork.

Do you like to be single or wished that you were married?

I'm comfortable being single (in spite of a fairly crappy breakup of the last serious relationship). I can spend time by myself, hang out with people (read: women) without a romantic connection and be great too, and that's a blessing. I know a lot of people my age who aren't capable of that and just insist on jumping from one to the next without looking for someone who fits.

That said..... I am a bit lonely now, mostly due to the circumstances of the previous one (has been discussed here in brief before but I'll get into it more later perhaps). I guess I'm faithful the right one will come along, and equally faithful in His perfect plan. If I'm honest I do wish He'd hurry up sometimes, but that still doesn't make me willing to compromise

I missed this one it seems.
I do have a tough time narrowing down movies (like music) - I like just about everything if its any good, and that goes for just about any genre. I like action and adventure movies in some moods, mindless humor other times, but I have no problem with a tear jerking romance, drama or whatever else either.

Hobbies though, yeah, I've got more than a couple. I spend a lot of time doing what I do for a living (motion design, media production, visual effects) - I donate work and production resources through my church and to other suitable organizations. I spend a fair amount of time reading too these days. I listen to music just about all the time, whether I'm working, relaxing or whatever else. I play too - piano and keys. I'm into photography and video work, sports and cars, I like to go out dancing...hmm
