I wish to point out again that the KJV says "thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name," and that doesn't make any sense. Why not just "above thy name?"

The context doesn't make any sense either. Why doesn't he say "praise thy word" instead of "praise thy name"? Why is he praising the Name at all?

The Hebrew word for "name" in the KJV is sometimes (rarely) translated as:

"renown" - Genesis 6:4, Numbers 16:2
"fame" - 1 Kings 4:31, 1 Chronicles 14:17, 1 Chronicles 22:5
"report" - Nehemiah 6:13

And the like.

So "all of your Name's Reputation" is a decent translation. My only critique with it is that it's not really two words, and it has an extra genitive. But it keeps the meaning of "name" that one would have in the Hebrew mind, that is by extension, one's name is as good as one's reputation.

Like how we say:

"I'm gonna make a name for myself!"

or

"You put a stain on the family name son."

Etc.

As a translator, it's not my job to force my own or anyone else's belief on the Scripture. We do not inform Scripture, Scripture is supposed to inform us.

So here's my translation again:

Let me bow myself towards your set-apart temple and I will praise your Name for your kindness and for your reliability, because you have made your Word great on all your Name's Reputation!

Now you're just adding words. I'm not interested in your interpretation. Go away.

That was rude.

He is a new member here, we should extend our kindness even if we disagree.

There are no misunderstandings of of God's Word ,only a lack of comprehension on our part.

Here's my perspective:

He refused to read my posts (as if the verses I quoted were somehow contradicting the verses he quoted), then he reposted the same verses twice, as if I hadn't already read them, agreed with them, and believed them, but the second time with alterations, implying that my belief in what is actually written in the Bible is not good enough.

I find that worse than rude.

Edit: also I believe John 8:47, which he partially quoted.
