Okay, this weather is crazy. I'm less than 100 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and my thermometer is peaking out at a balmy 34 degrees. They're talking low temps around 11 degrees later on this week.

It should be against the rules for it to be this cold!!

It's winter here also but I've had to sleep with the a/c on for the last couple nights. Usually don't need it until March.

We have had single digit lows for a while. The other morning(early) it was -3.

They're saying that the UK is currently experiencing the worst weather for 30 years.

Snow, snow and more snow - the news is full of stories about how bad it is and how much worse it is going to get - cheerful lot.

Unless I can adapt my mobility scooter to become a snow plough, looks like I'll be staying in today.

I just saw on the news that in Fulton, NY it has snowed 55" in the last 19 days and it's still snowing. It's snowed here more than it did the last two years. The lowest I've seen here so far is 13 degrees

I just saw on the news that in Fulton, NY it has snowed 55" in the last 19 days and it's still snowing. It's snowed here more than it did the last two years. The lowest I've seen here so far is 13 degrees

WHOA that's some serious white stuff!!

I can go ahead and tell you, if any snow shows up on the doppler radar here in south MS, you might as well call in the National Guard. We'll shut down the whole state over a few flurries.

Too right - it's freezing!

Many schools are closed here, businesses closed, services affected, power cuts and so on.

I was not able to go into my local hospital today to do my voluntary work on the chaplaincy team. I had decided not to anyway, but then the chaplain rang and said, "just to make sure you're NOT thinking of going to the hospital, I'm banning everyone".

(I can't walk that well on dry land; in this snow, it would be pretty lethal.)
