Today marks 10 years since I first joined this place, and I have to say...after a whole decade here, I'm finally walking the plank.
I've been debating whether not I'd leave for at least six months now, and I figured that, if I decided to go, that today would be a good to do it. Like TX_CO_Matt, I've had good days, bad days, good discussions, ugly arguments, and made a couple great friends here on CF. All in all, I would say my time on CF has been more positive than negative. I suppose the negative only seemingly overpowers the positive because it came in one big foul swoop and lasted these last three years.
Anyway, I'm actually pretty excited and anxious to say adios. As much as I'll miss some things about CF, like the silly conversations and laughs, I believe 100% that cutting CF out of my life is going to be very good for me. I think this is an excellent way to start off my year. ...In many ways I have CF (and most of y'all) to thank, because my being active on here in the past three years has really helped me come out of my shell. I'm grateful for that, and unlike some people who choose to look at online fellowships as fiction and not reality (you know who you are...), I acknowledge that they're real fellowships, and that y'all are real people, and I'm happy to have known you and been a part, albeit a small part, of your lives.
Some of y'all I'm in contact with on Skype, some on Facebook, some on another forum, and some a mixture of all three. But for the rest of y'all, if you wish to remain in contact with me, you can ask to be included in the CF Group Chat on Skype, which I'm in as well. I confess I'm a little selective and cautious with whom I add as a direct contact on Skype, and especially on Facebook, but feel free to ask me if you wish. I'll remain logged in for the rest of the day just in case anyone does send me a rep, wall post, or PM asking for contact info and whatnot. But this will surely be my last post on the public forum.
It's been epic, folks.
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light." (1 Peter 2:9)
