Acts 17:21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

I'll bet they sound like your kind of people, don't they?

That would be a scientist's job today.

1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Every time AVET has no answer to a post, he takes some random quote from scripture and posts it out of context. This represents his level of biblical learning that we are supposed to emulate.

Well ooh and aah to science.

Good for them -- and I mean that.

But when they come snooping around the Bible with their clipboards, they should be taught the lesson that was taught to Uzzah,* viz. there are places you just don't go.

* Non-lethal, that is -- this is a new dispensation. :)
We don't go snooping around the bible. You are the one snooping around the bible to find some way to misapply it to our understanding of nature and the physical world. If you stuck to the supernatural, you would get little grief from me.

I thought this much was obvious.

In the quotes he mentions though, the quote could just as easily be about his slanted interpretation of the bible than anything to do with science.

The quotes are quite funny historically if we consider things like religions answer to the bubonic plague and what it means for religion.

if they must be called so, evolutionists, creationism is a knee-jerk reaction to science.
Um ... no.

Adam, who wrote Genesis 1 & 2, was a creationist.

Darwin came much later.

You are really making yourself look bad, AVET. Or are you really just confusing yourself?
Oh, now he meant: Adam didn't write Genesis 1 & 2?

And I move the goal posts?

Please spare us your sophistry. Yes, he meant Genesis 1 & 2. Did you really think his point centered on the writing of the entire book, rather than just the first two chapters? Do you think you caught him and he will now admit, "well yes, Adam wrote the first two chapters, I thought you said all of it?" You split hairs like a lawyer.... or a Pharisee. You know, I think you would make a better Pharisee than a witch hunter. Yes... a Pharisee I think would suit you better.

Either that, or he knew better than to say, "Adam didn't write Genesis 1 & 2", knowing I'd come back to the contrary with Wikipedia.

Adam wrote Genesis (1,2 or 2118) just as Bilbo Baggins wrote the Red Book of the Westmarch, which as we all know, was published by another famous englishman.
You can talk yourselves out of believing that if you want; but my point still stands: creationists where here long before evolutionist were.
