I was an atheist before becoming a christian. I started talking with a friends brother who was a christian. I started to ask questions and decided to pray for salvation. it has been almost 5 yrs. since then. I didn't get baptised until almost three years ago. Sometimes it a hard struggle. I sometimes catch myself straying from christ. I'm always looking for new friends for prayer and support. I live in N.J. which isn't the best christian environment.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi GodsSaint, good to have you with us (I'm new here, but not new to the faith). There are many different kinds of Christians, have you found a niche yet or are you still looking?Have not been to NJ, why is it difficult there?

The whole tri-state area is pretty non christian. I was out visiting a friend last year in Iowa and loved it. Very christian oriented. N.J. is filled with alot of rude people. You say hi to people and alot of times they don't even say hi back. Almost makes you not to want to bother even saying hi. And sometimes i catch myself being the same way.
