That you didn't attach the piece of paper to the table cloth - as we do structures to the earth or trees are attached by root systems - and so showed what would happen if we let them float on the surface instead.

I have demonstrated a flat earth.

Except any sphere large enough - such as the earth - is flat to all visual appearances. Circles are in actuality straight line segments, as any drafter or engineer understands.

You demonstrated that if our experiment is on a small enough scale - it appears flat - as does any sufficiently small portion of the earth - even if it is round.

EDIT: I don't recall - in this experiment is your table curved to match the earths curvature or does it vary from this and is in actuality parallel to only one point on the earth's surface?

A table top that matches the curvature of the earth not at all and is so therefore not a valid hypothesis? Curve your table top slightly - then come back and tell me what happens?????
