• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

just on a low dose of metformin, but over the last year it'd been creeping up, and my appetite, weight, all that creeping up as well, like I cannot stand being so hungry that my stomach literally physically hurts and I get dizzy all the time when trying to watch what I eat.
I can't willpower my way through it, I can't pray my way through it.
So.. I finally got to the point where my A1C fell out of control and the VA said they'd cover Ozempic. So great I started that a month ago. at first great, okay instead of feeling ravenously hungry all the time I felt over full and was cutting out meals snacks, portion sizes at dinner, reducing or eliminating carbs, all the stuff I'm supposed to do through sheer willpower but couldn't do, I'd started losing weight, and thinks seemed on the up.

But the last time I injected, it hurt, and it formed a bump under my skin.. and I stopped feeling satiated, and the last day, I'm a 2 days before I'm supposed to do my next dose and increase dose size.. I'm absolutely famished, I ate all of dinner and was still famished, i ate a snack to feel full and like 3 hours later I'm struggling again with the gnawing pain and dizziness
I'm afraid my cursed immune system developed neutralizing antibodies and this isn't going to be an option anymore.
and then
I don't know what to do
I literally cannot willpower my way through the pain for indefinite periods of time. It wakes me up from sleep.
in fact I think it's worse than before I started Ozempic.

I guess the only thing I can do is do the next injection and see if I have a reaction again like the last time and pray I don't.

The lump under your skin was all the medicine. Something went wrong during the injection. You didn’t get any so you are ravenous.
yeah but I'm worried that what it was was my immune system reacting to the drug like, neutralizing it with antibodies

Well this time there wasn't really a lump and definitely no pain.
Perhaps I hit a nerve ending rather than subcutaneous fat and so it had no where to go except the epidural layer of skin above and didn't get absorbed.
