Ok, i wasn't going to come along here tonight, but after having watched an hour and a half of Catholic Slur on Brit TV : 'Flesh and the Devil', i feel the need to focus on something worthy of my attention.
Today my son, who is eight went to school with a parcel. In it was the Bible he received at Christmas, his rosary and a booklet explaining the mysteries and prayers to be prayed on it, a prayer card: splinters of the cross, a crucifix, a Catholic newspaper and a statue of the Divine mercy.
Considering that my son gets picked on frequently, i was worried that his enthusiasm for doing his 'show and tell' with all his much loved devotional items, would lead to him coming out of school with bruises!
My son was so proud when he told me later about how he stood up in front of the whole class and explained to everyone why we pray the rosary, how we use holy water, what is meant by the Divine Mercy, how we pray to Mary, not worship her.... I love my children...God is doing wonderful work within my family. My son, who is not even received into the Catholic Faith yet, is an apologist amongst his fellow 8 year olds!
My son had come home yesterday and told me that his teacher had informed the class that she did not believe in God, so i was a little concerned that she would in some way resent my son's enthusiasm for Jesus -but i was called to collect my son from school, before lunch time today ( he had had an asthma attack at school) and his teacher thanked me for allowing my son to take everything in.
oh and i must share this, this really warms my heart... only last week my daughter began to kneel at Mass for the very first time.
I just wanted to share this wonderul time with you. Mums are so soppy aren't they!
