Jerm 23:28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.

Not quite sure where this came from...in the discussion but...
To understand where the misunderstanding came from - historically speaking those protesting the Church took the early Church father - Bishop St Augustine, and misunderstood his words. Perhaps misaligned them.

Nevertheless, i agree with this scripture, and you would find that the Church's teachings are the same as those penned by the earliest teachers of the Church.
One must only look to see.

Only God knows who are truly his, and the whole creation waits in eager expectation of their revealing at his coming.

Wheat and tares grows together in the sons field until the harvest.
some who cry Lord Lord will not be known by him.....yikes, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, should now be understood.

I agree.
Only God knows mans heart.

And the Church believes that the Invisible Church is made up all believers, but that the Church remains the faithful. Being she hasn't changed the teachings even if accused.

So it's possible to misunderstand the ECF's?

Apparently.
Some have changed the meaning of St Augustine a few times... tho doing so because they only quote or read small parts - similar to how they interpret scriptures, without the entirety.

QFT!

John 5:39 "Ye are searching the Writings that ye are seeming in them Life age-during to be having, and those are the ones-testifying about Me".

2 Peter 3:16 As also in all the letters speaking in them about these-things in which is difficult-to-understand who-any which the un-learned and un-steadfast are wresting/twisting, as also the rests of Writings toward the own of them[RCs and Protestants] destruction

I particular like this exchange between my bro Paul and Agippa in Acts.
The way it seems on GT, I thought I would "dub" it a bit :D :p

Young) Acts 26:28 And Agrippa said unto Paul, `In a little thou dost persuade me to become a Christian[Roman Catholic :p]!'

How can you be sure that "they" changed the meaning?
What if "you" have the wrong meaning.
Is that possible?

How much of Matthew 24 is fulfilled

Matt 24:22 "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here [is] the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe [it.]

As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are His." The Bible clearly says that all Christians are a body of believers indwelt by the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13). Romans 8:9 says, "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His." Spiritual Church is "invisible unity" which assumed to be imperfectly displayed, visibly: some denominations are less accepting of others, and the basic orthodoxy of some is questioned by most of the others. At the instant of our conversion, we become "eternal members" in the universal (catholic) church of Jesus Christ, based solely on His merit and grace.

The author of the book of Hebrews explain that "faith is the conviction of things not seen". A Christian is prepared to live out our life on the basis of faith regardless of sight, taste, feel and experience. I have not seen God, nor I have seen Christ nor I have seen or feel the Holy Spirit. Faith is believing there is another dimension to life other than those which can be touched, tasted, seen or felt. There is more to life than that. There is also the realm of the spirit, the invisible spiritual kingdom of God. Biblical faith is this: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1-2).

I guess that means it's boundaries are enlarged as we allow God more sovereignity over ourselves.
