I've just come on tonight for the first time in a long time & was attracted to your thread as I'm aware of the incident with Mike Gugliemucci. I attended Paradise Church here in Adelaide when we were advised Mike did not have cancer but a porn addiction. I left Paradise Church too. There was a time when I was in need of help, desperate for some assistance so I reached out to them & they basically gave me a contact number of some government department. From then on I could not go back there. It was alright for them to grab me from the crowd the first night I went there & for me to donate but when I needed help well.

I hear you! What makes me ill is they have "spotters" members of the church that look out for new people. The Pastor calls out to all the new people who are desperate, lost & in need of help and he calls out "if this is your first time here, if you are just visiting & you want Jesus to come into your life, raise your hand......blah blah" Then the spotters come out, grab you & take you round the back where other Pastors convince you to join & come back. Thing is there's no follow up, they could not care a less. As I said I was pregnant at the time & also had a 5 year old & I was going through depression or anxiety not sure really but I needed help & serious help, I wanted to end my life & I was 7 months pregnant. I phoned them crying asking if a Pastor could come to me & talk to me & they told me to call the pregnancy help line or one of those outlets. I could not believe it. No phone call back nothing. I had just been baptised again by Paradise Church while I was pregnant & I thought I had really found a place I could be happy & at peace. I was wrong!

well all i want to say is ... different churches target different people, different back grounds, different ministries ... these all vary from church to church most of the time because of the different vision/ministry that God has placed in their hearts .... personally i have nothing against people going from one church to another ... its up to you and its a matter to be made with much prayer ... u cant judge them based on the fact that they were not able to discern about Mike (he was the writer of the song "healer"... (not being judgmental but did u discern that God wanted you to go to Planet Shaker's church) ... i support what mike did ... research it on You-tube ... he asked for forgiveness from the public he cheated and gave them back the cash that was contributed to him (for his "cancer" treatment) ... He got kicked out by Hillsong but Planet Shakers supported him (something im proud to say they did) ... when people forget that they do sin and usually just ask God for forgiveness instead of asking also from the people its not complete and Mike came clean on TV directly based on a vision he got from God ... and you should not speak against your pastor (shepherd) cos he might be praying for you and u might not know it and remember when aaron and miriam spoke against God's servant Moses it caused God to be angered and cos miriam to die on the mountain ... so ask God to forgive you for any unseemly talks you might have had or done .... well yeah we all fall short but thank God for his long arms of Grace that redeems us and gives us all more than infinite "second" chances (i dont think you should capitalize on this though

well basically if u feel that you are not growing in a church spiritually then pray about it to see if God wants you to continue there to make a difference or if God wants you to move somewhere else.
well and if you feel that the money (tithe) goes to the church and not to mission fields (or whatever you think that makes it get deposited in God's checking account) its not gonna be counted against you but against them (if that is true that is) so dont worry for God looks at your heart ( for God loves a cheerful giver )....
If you are happy and convinced that God has led you to move then why post .... continue to bless the people around you
