  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There are many who have acheived the state of enlightenment aka buddhahood. When you say "Buddha" why do you not specify which one you are talking about?

To the nice person who had the questions about Buddhism. Just know this....Buddhism is a practice that has many sects. Do not take one person's answers to your questions as being "the only" answer. Or what you learn will be incomplete and therefor flawed.

I would like to suggest that you read "Enclopedia of Cults and New Religions" by John Ankerberg & John Weldon. Please don't be thrown by the name. It's a comprehensive description of all religions including the many buddhist religions.

To save myself time of reading every post I'm going to say that I agree with Tariki's first post within this thread. The Buddha did not give himself dilusions of anything, he felt the peace and transposed it onto the world, attempting to make that meditative feeling(which feels really good because you no longer see or feel, only hear, smell, and taste) of total peace and harmony onto the world.

If people keep wanting more in the end they will go as far as to rob banks and steal from people. In the end once their body dies, their soul will crave more life. Some people will even fight with themselves when they die, in a decision to leave this world or just enter Nirvanna.
