My Mom

Hey guys,

I wanted to solicit your prayers.

My mom was diagnosed with limited Wegner's Granulatomalosis (something like that) about 8 years ago. It is a very rare diease. It is limited because the actual diease affects all of the body's major organs, with my mom's it primarily affects her respirtory and endocrine systems. She recently had to have a stent put in and taken out because of kidney stones. This affected her bladder and coupled with the medicine she takes regularly, she began to internally bleed from her bladder.

She went to the doctor on Monday and found out that she had lost a lot of platelets. So, they admitted her into the hosptial and are going to be testing her bone marrow today to find out why she is losing platelets.

My dad called me about 20 minutes ago. My mom is still in the hospital. She is in surgery right now. They are trying to stop the bleeding. She has been diagnoised with Hodgkin's Diease, which is a form of Cancer. It is a very treatable and mild cancer, however, with her loosing blood like she is, she isn't doing too well.

The doctor's said that if they can't stop the bleeding then it doesn't look to
good for my mom.

PLEASE be in prayer for her and my family. There is enough stress with finals coming up and now with this.

My Mom, Vicky (for those that wanted to know) is still in the hospital, in ICU. Some of her family (mom, dad, sister and brother) came up today. The doctors aren't certain about whether she will make it. Right now she is still sedated. She had her first round of chemo yesterday, and had some more today. They gave her 2.5 grams of the medicine-- A normal, otherwise healthy person, usually only gets about 300 miligrams. So she is getting a HUGE dosage. She is at risk for infections right now... They also believe that her kidneys are failing.

They found that she has T-cell lymphoma. It is a very rapid progressing cancer. They say she has only had it for maybe a month of two but that it is pretty widespread.

I am not at school, my finals are postponed and I am home at least until after christmas.

Thanks for the prayers! My family and I really appreciate it.

I pray for Vicky Lord for her healing. Please give her comfort and peace and remove any pain that she is having. May she dream of angels and of your perfection Lord, of your beauty.

I pray for Shannon and her family that they would be comforted and come together under your care. I pray for Shannon too, for her finals that she would be able to take her tests and do well.

Update from Shannon: The prognosis is not good, and the doctors have informed the family that Shannon's mom may only have a few days left to live.

Oh Father if it's Your will interrupt this downward spiral of Shannon's mom. Halt the destruction of her body's tissues. Breathe Your breath of life into her. Cast out all that would harm her. Grant her fighter cells in her body that will fight what is destroying her. By Your tenderest of mercies, hear the heartcries of Shannon and her family and grant mercy for her mom and longer life. Pour out Your grace on Shannon and her family. Protect her mom from all that is not of You, in the name of Yeshua, amen.
