Sakaki called for two of her employees. They grabbed the two drunkards by the armpits and dragged them out. Shinji brought his knees up to his face and curled up in a ball like a child. Sakaki, seeing this behavior, motioned for Kyuui to come over.
"There's something you need to know about Shinji," she whispered in Kyuui's ear. "He probably told you a story about a mercenary spirit being put into him. To be honest, I'm not sure if that's true. I talked to his brother and it turns out they're not even related by blood. When I inquired further into Shinji's past, the brother refused to say anything."
She turned to glance at Shinji to see if he was listening. He remained unresponsive. "I don't know if it's spilt personality or something more sinister, but..." Sakaki shook her head. "It's a sad state of affairs. The boy has a good heart save for a few fatal flaws of character," she said with humorous disdain.
