My LP Challenge

If I had a bicycle that I loved and called it "Red" ... if over time each part is eventually replaced -- the seat, later the handle bars, later the pedals, etc., until every single part is replaced ... is it still "Red"?

That could be applied to Tyre.

Not technically the same. The Ship of Theseus argument is about COMPLETELY replacing all the parts of the ship and wondering if you can call it the same ship.
Human bodies regrow new cells, new hair, etc, because that's a natural thing for us.

But how many know how long it takes (very important).

It has to do with improving your health over time. If you know it's going to take a full year to replace cells that are damaged by bad habits you won't be dismayed if your progress seems slow.

I like the concept of improving human life. It would be nice if we could extend life through better habits instead of medical interventions.

Actually we are 'swapping out parts' in a sense as new tissue replaces old over time. If we maintain the new tissue in good health over time it may change us genetically for the better.

No, we aren't. Regrowing minor cells and stuff is not the same as full on replacing a part of the body. Our is skin is still fundamentally our own skin, even if it sheds and regrows.

Except they aren't. All the new cells are created in our own bodies. They are a part of us, they are not replacing anything in the way you are suggesting they are.

Why?

Your point is obviously a bit about God cleaning up the world to remove evidence of what he did (yet apparently thinking that us knowing he did it was so important he wrote it down, even though it was not important enough to leave any evidence in the real world).

Since you also claim that God has made the world look like it has been around for a lot longer than it has actually been around for, I think this is quite closely related to the point you are trying to make. Specifically, that someone is out there, making things look they've had experiences that are different to the actual experiences they've had.

Question: If you met Adam on the day he was created, would you conclude he had been around for a lot longer than he had? ditto for the trees? raisin bread grasses? shrubs? anything looking fully grown?
