Well, I don't stick her in the dirt and fertilize the dirt and add water to the dirt to look after her. Instead, I make sure she has edible nutritious feed consistent with her primate heirtage. As her mate, we share that task.

I have to admit there are times when I treat my spouse (meaning married partner) like an animal.
When her head is in my way and I can't see the TV; duck.
When I sneak up behind her and pinch her [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]; goose.
When she rolls over and takes all the blankets; hog.
When I want her to do something for me; deer.
When she falls for one of my pranks; sucker (that's a fish, by the way).
When she says no to zip-lining; chicken.
When she tells people my age; rat.
When she gets out of the tub; bear.
When she beats me at cards; cheetah.
