I've considered posting this for a long time, but didn't.

I think I will now, here's an account of my modernist parish from my reversion story:

"Now the Parish at my parents town, that's a different story, don't get me wrong, I take [n]o delight in bashing that place, but I have to be honest. The Church building used to be cruciform-shaped (it's the same one I went to as a child) but it had burned down and had to be rebuilt. They rebuilt it in a round auditorium shape, and made it small, smaller than the parish hall in fact. And they set it off to the side of the hall, like an added appendage, an after-thought. The atmosphere of the building is akin to an office building or mall. There is almost no sacred art, and the pews, altar, pulpit, etc. have a smooth, shallow almost iPad-like feel to them, no depth or detail, at all, if you understand what I'm trying to describe here. The Mass in that parish is served with vague hymns, sung folk-music-style, with guitars and hyper-masculine banging on drums, the homilies are mostly vague, it is really hard pay attention to anything. Confession is only available on Saturdays before Mass. You have to wait for the priest to arrive, and than tell him that you need him to hear your confession, and you have do it quickly before Mass starts. Also, I hope this isn't gossip or back biting but, there is something seriously wrong with that town, (it's the same town I had been bullied in at School) I can't put my figure on it but there is something just messed up about that place. The only really good thing that can be said about the Liberal parish, is that it has a strong Portuguese community that is very strong and firm in the Traditional faith, I'm now attending Fatima Masses there. It's really nice to here the Portuguese Fatima hymns when we pray the Rosary, I feel like I'm riding into spiritual warfare when I hear them, if only we could have a Portuguese choir."

This is from my reversion story: My Reversion Story: How Our Lady Of Fatima Led Me Back To The One True Faith | Christian Forums You can go ahead and read it, and think of me what you will.

<< So have given up on me? That's very disappointing and unchristian. You do realize this will undermine the trust I have of any of your advice in the future, especially in regards to evangelization since you show lack of persistence.>>

Think of me what you will - I really do not see why I should carry on bashing my head on that brick wall - it's too painful.

It's very very clear - you are convinced that you know what you should do.
The thought occurs to me, that maybe the situation here had become spiritually dangerous for you, and that is the reason for your withdraw.

If that is the case, I am sorry.

If however, that is not the case, I stand by my rebuke.

I am judging and guessing by the circumstances, not you.

I think it is more of a commonsense type of thing. Why should she debate this with you? She tried to help. Eventually you just have to leave them to it. There is no sense in it.

I did everything you told me to say, and yet I so much as ask a question, and this is how you respond!?!
If only you saw how I behaved there!!! What a disgusting, filthy, condemnable coward I was! If I had only spoken up, I wouldn't have this problem. I wouldn't be here now.

Can you leave me alone please. I clearly not making myself understandable. I'm going to try and take this down tomorrow, you can go ahead and judge me, I probably deserve it. But if I don't fix this, it's only going to get worse. I'm going to talk to the priest, if he doesn't reply to the email I sent him by the end of this month, I'm going to send another, I'm going to right the wrong I've done! I don't bare any grudge against any of you, and I am glad and grateful, that I have taken your advice. But I don't trust you.

You are obviously in spiritual turmoil and it is not the time to be making rash decisions. When new to the faith you take it slow and do not instruct others. It is a spiritually delicate time and over zealousness can be a weed that destroys a new plant.

MOD HAT

Since this is obviously causing spiritual conflict I am closing this for you, please PM me if you want to discuss opening it up again. In the meantime...take this weekend, in particular Sunday to think on the fact that before we go into spiritual battle we must have our weapons ready and our amour secure. This is all clearly bothering you and not helping.
