  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It actually started out as anti-Irish sentiment in the United States, because many Irish were Catholic and Catholics were hated in the USA back in the day. The Irish were absolutely horrified by it.

There might be a few left, but they would be very old. Since there are no female Leprechauns they couldn't reproduce and have mostly died of old age. Though it should be noted that all types of fairies have a very long life span.
Good point!

I voted NO.

But I do believe they did exist at one time and were very prevalent, until the Holy Spirit ended (or severely limited) their activity.

It's a dispensation thing.

If one or two are sighted tomorrow though, it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm serious.

I believe fallen angels roamed the earth, masquerading as this, that, and the other thing, until the Dispensation of Grace started and the Holy Ghost came and put a stop to most of it.

Aargh!
You really do need these 'things' (like Holy Ghosts) to discipline folk who don't line up with your beliefs, don't you?
The only life model you have, is the authoritarian one, isn't it?
Why don't you try on that its within your power to get folk onboard?
(Ie: instead of living in a world believing other 'things' are going to do it for you?)

You are begging the question as to whether scientists “ correct” people, or whether science is actually capable of determining existence.

Science is a developing model of the universe and a process for building the model. It focuses on repeatable and causal things or things that repeat. It’s a very useful model, but Science is limited in scope.

The model is not the universe. It models observations, science cannot know what underlies them. It is capable of saying something exists that underlies a repeatable observation. It is capable of building an abstract model o by linking observations, It cannot say something does not exist because there are no repeatable observations of it.

The guardians of the gates of science have a habit of including things science “ likes” and rejecting things they do not “ like”, so even objectivity is missing at times.

OK. Now that AVET has confirmed my suspicions concerning his thread, I can elaborate here.

Since people still believe in Leprechauns, that means that "Scientists" have not corrected them (because they only correct some mistakes and not others). Certainly, if "Scientists" tell people not to believe in Leprechauns, they will obey, after all. Since people do still believe, that means "Scientists" didn't correct them, which means that Science is NOT self-correcting!

Game, set, and match evos!!!

This may be quite accurate, but by this reasoning we are not then allowed to hypothesize supernatural effects. That's the rules of the game.

What you don't know cannot be more well explained by hypothesizing what you can't even conceive of.

I doubt it.

I am curious: why?

Of course the question sounds insulting at best, I mean comparing angels to werewolves and re-animated mummies is clearly meant to be a "dig", but it's a fair question.

Angels have as much possibility of existence as werewolves and vampires and unicorns.

Humans don't have a great track record of accurately identifying things that are real vs things that are not. For quite a long time there was a belief that there was a race of people living in Egypt who didn't have heads but their faces were in the middle parts of their bodies. Presumably SOMEONE had reported this. Of course it isn't real. There is no such thing but for some people for a long time they were as real as anything else.

So the question stands: if angels can be hypothesized to be real, why not unicorns? Why not werewolves? Haven't people claimed to see these at some point in antiquity?

QV please:
Dragons, along with other cryptids that pwn evolution's paradigms are depicted in the Bible as real.

Here's a list:

1. coneys
2. whale-fish
3. satyrs
4. unicorns
5. straw-eating lions
6. four-legged locusts
7. dragons
8. dinosaurs with navels (behemoths)
