I'm a blood bought, born again, Bible believing Baptist boy.

A Christian by election, Baptist by conviction.

A sinner saved by grace.

What are you?

Someone who doesn't think anything you've just said means squat.

Try again.

And the only ones being fooled are the one's who don't believe in the Bible.
If that was the case you could support your claims. All you can ever say is "because the Bible says so". A Muslim can use exactly the same argument. Except that he would rely on a different man made book.

So it is! That's one on me.
The "correct" way to spell it has varied over the years. Largely due to the fact that English cannot phonetically represent the Arabic pronunciation accurately. It used to be "Koran", in fact my spell check still recognizes only that version. Then "Quran" and now "Qur'an" all in an attempt to replicate the throat clearing sound of Arabic. Neither of those versions pass my spell checker.

You're not someone though.

You're a college professor of literature.

And if you can tell me the three types of Hebrew poetry, but can't get "squat" out of what I just described, I'm going to call your bluff.

Also, to add to my list, I'm an Independent, Fundamental, King James Only, seven-theme dispensationist, who believes in eternal security.

I'd say that's pretty in-depth.

What about you?

Can you go that deep describing yourself?

Reminds me of Spock's first name ("You couldn't pronounce it.")

Not God's word though.

You can pronounce that.

It's called "The Holy Bible."

Accept no imitations.

A claim that is worthless if you can't support it. I could say the same about the Qu'ran with just as much authority.

You've given yourself a lot of titles.

I'm calling your bluff...Give me a reason to care.

Also, to add to my list, I'm an Independent, Fundamental, King James Only, seven-theme dispensationist, who believes in eternal security.

Except it's not. Where's the depth? You might as well label yourself the King of Saturn, for all it means.

What about you?

Can you go that deep describing yourself?

Nothing "deep" about ego inflation.

Which one? His name?

You can pronounce that.

It's called "The Holy Bible."

Not in the original Hebrew.... or would you prefer Aramaic?

Accept no imitations.

Especially that jacobean one...

Except one is with respect to its doctrine, and the other is in spite of it.

That is not the case. I can quote the Bible out of context just as you would have to quote the Qu'ran out of context. They both support violence against others if one does that. By the way, this is a "No True Scotsman" fallacy on your part.

Wow. Just ... wow.
I know, that you did not know that is truly amazing. Just as some Muslims will incorrectly state that the Muslims that flew into the WTC so do some Christians make the same sort of error when they claim that Christian terrorists are not true Christians.

Do you proofread your posts, Sub?

I can't make out what you just said.

But for the record, I cringe when newscasters talk about "Muslim terrorists."

To me, a "Muslim terrorist" is a Muslim who would help a little old lady across the street, or plant flowers.

Why academians insist on giving a "convert-or-die" religion equal standing with a "love-thine-enemy" is [almost] beyond me.

Oh my! You really don't know the history of your own religion.

And you don't know what an Independent Baptist is, do you?

Did you ever read, The Trail of Blood, by J. M. Carroll?
