Jesus wouldn't have referred back to Genesis as a true portrayal of creation, he knew much of the Old Testament was exaggerated human opinion, speculation and conjecture. It was self exalting history revisionism concocted by the Hebrew priesthood who organized much of the OT framework that exists today. He did however extract common spiritual truths from the scriptures as he had actually read and studied them whereas his apostles obviously had not. Most Christians also ignore that God said Kind after Kind, not Kind into other Kind....
Those who reject Christ on any interpretation of Genesis will reject him anyways, since Jesus repeatedly referred back to Genesis.... and that layman's interpretation...
No, they are condemned because in later times wolves in Sheep's clothing infiltrated the flock and led many astray...... but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles… They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.... They put their wisdom above God's, who declared time after time, Kind after Kind.... Not directed at anyone specific....
The Gospels were written by men with a Jewish bias. There was some hope and motivation to further show Jesus was the hoped for Jewish Messiah so that Israel would get converted.
