I was renting apartment in this building, and a drug-addict was living there too. I got to know him a little, barbequing together outside, he claimed he saw Jesus one day he was needy. A time when he sat outside, I saw him turn rational in front of me, then back again to believing in God. I`m not saying it`s irrational to believe in a God, he just realised that it was nonsense I saw on him, before he went back again. I know that his vision of Jesus probably was just a creation of the mind since he needed it, but later he lies about it being real, even though he knows it was an creation. A creative creation of the mind, with vision, and all.

The problem is that he knows I don`t believe in a God, so he claims I don`t believe his vision that he saw. How to work around this problem? I think he lies about it being real because he likes the idea, but since I don`t believe in it, he think`s I distrust him

It's hard to evaluate someone else's spiritual experiences, because we're not the one who experienced it. It can be hard even to evaluate one's own spiritual experiences. Is it a hallucination, or a real visitation from the Divine, or a human feeling that my human mind is having that I misinterpret, or a human feeling that the Divine is working through? Truly, it's difficult to say, and especially difficult when it's someone else's experience.

Can you just say "I didn't experience it, so I don't know what you saw or what it means", and let it go at that?

I agree.

Take it with a grain of salt.

And pray for wisdom and discernment.

Blessings!

It was funny you know, I had a period that I had sort of a relationship to God, I don`t believe, but I liked praying, but he looked at me like I was crazy for acrually believing. They all seem to do this, if you say to a Christian you believe, they look at you like you`re crazy
Ok? Are you interested in being a Christian now or no?

I kinda believe we have a soul, but it`s made so we feel alive, I don`t think there`s actually something in it. So no, I don`t believe there`s like a supernatural being watching over us ether
Ok. Thanks for sharing

I don't know if people who claim to have seen Jesus really have or not. All I know, is that it is not necessary for salvation...

John 20:29 NIV
"Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The beautiful thing is that once one has received Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior - they certainly can see His Heart through the spiritual eyes of the Holy Spirit. And through Him they come to know the Father.

You can too!

Just one prerequisite...

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

And then...

Romans 10:8-9 NKJV
"But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

God bless!

A drug addict claimed he saw Jesus.

He is acting insecure that you don't believe it because he doesn't believe it either.

There have always been people who were confronted by Christ then later began to doubt - only to return to faith.

Peter did that in the Gospel accounts where he declares his undying loyalty to Christ - then later at Christ's trial he denied Christ - then later repented and became a very loyal follower of Christ to the point of being martyred for his faith in Christ.

If you are looking for the real Jesus, He isn't hiding from you. He is God who stepped out of heaven and came into the world, the world that He created, so He could die on a cross and shed His blood there to pay the penalty for your sins.
John 10:18 Jesus says, "No man taketh it from me, His life, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again." This commandment I received from My Father."
Jesus gave His life as the sacrifice for our sins so that we can have eternal life with God. But the grave could not hold Him, He came out of that grave after 3 days, and He is alive today waiting for you to come to Him so He can forgive your sin, give you a new heart, and give you eternal life with Him.
Hebrews 11:6 says, "God is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Jeremiah 29:13 says, "You will seek me and find me when you seek Him with all your heart."
You can find Him in God's Word, the Bible. I found Him in the Gospel of John. In John 6:37 Jesus said, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
You don't have to see Him; just believe Him.

Regards,
John
