• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I spoke to my friend this morning and she told me that she is suffering with depression.
She said that she is convinced that she will die of leukemia in 2 years time. She is really scared.

I want to help her. How do I do this without interfering. I know there is prayer and I can pray without her knowing but is there anything else I can do to free her from these thoughts.
I am so angry that satan has got in there.

My friend has lots of moles all over her body and convinced some may be cancerous. She has been to the doctor and he said they are fine. She never goes into the sun.

She looks really run down and has lost weight. She is a struggling christian and finds it hard to believe in God's word when she has so many problems. How am I to convince her that this is satans work and that God knows everything. I dont want to be throwing God's word in her face because I dont think she could handle it right now.
Please could anybody help me with this. She has had to give up work as she is unable to concentrate and she said that she just cant be bothered with anything.
She is back on medication as she suffered with this a few years ago but I didnt know her then.

Why is satan doing this a second time to her?

Death is God's greatest gift, used for the transition of your spirit into higher realms, instead of being scared of death we should embrace and celebrate it. If you die naturally or without your own intent it means you have kept your promise to God to live this life to completion.

Because we all die and can't do anything about it its completely useless to worry about it.

Tell her that, life is for us to enjoy in a positive constructive way and that she should only worry about
the things she can control. And not about all the natural disasters, hurricanes, car crashes, earthquakes. These are all things that lie beyond her power and in Gods hands and there's no reason to be afraid.

Anyway i don't even think its Satan work doing this to her, you see its her own fear of death that puts her into a state of hell. What you can do is cheer her up, by taking her to a nice shopping mall, and show her love and help her and show her that there's also good in this life which is worth celebrating.

She needs to push the negative stuff out of her life, and bring in positive stuff. Life is not only doom and gloom like they would like to believe you in the news. When a baby is born its great joy, when the flowers are blooming there is great joy, when the sun hits your face, its the little things in life that she needs to learn to enjoy.

She needs to move away and get rid of those things that cause her to worry.

bless your heart! bless her heart. do you go to church together? maybe you could talk her into putting her name on the prayer list, getting into counselling or a bible study group. you could be in a position of leadership and address these things with your actions and additude.

My grandmother died of leukemia. It is an incredibly severe illness. If she's been to a doctor, and the doctor said she was okay, then she's just depressed, or imagining this, perhaps. Perhaps she needs some counseling, but leukemia runs in families. Does it run in her family? Has she experienced loss through this illness with friends, even? That is a horrible thing to experience, I can tell you that from personal experience.

No leukemia doesnt run in her family but she does have a friend who's 6 year old boy has it and she spends alot of time with her. She has always been a worrier. She is just so caring and she does anything for anyone. I just want to do my best for her, just to be there with her. She is coming over today with her little boy. I said that we can talk and note down all the points in her life that bother her.
I myself can get quite anxious so I know what it feels like and wouldnt ever like to know someone else is suffering. I am bulimic and have been for 30 years. I know this is not of God and I shout at the devil. It is under control now and I am only sick about 3 times a week, though everyday I want to. Bulimia causes alot of anxiousness as I am sure it disturbs the hormones and makes me feel down most of the time, but you know I will not let the devil beat me and thats what I will be saying to my friend.

We dont go to church together as we are not that close. I know her through friends at church but we havent got a close sort of relationship. I believe it was the Holy Spirit urging me to talk to her yesterday and I am glad I did. I praised the Lord for putting me in touch with her.

She will be with me for most of the day today.

Thankyou goldenviolet for your words and Anti existance.
My intention is to push the negative stuff from her memory with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks guys and may you be truly blessed.
