So what? If that were the case, Harry Potter would be much more than a work of fiction meant to entertain you. It's not, so you're not saying much.

What are you talking about? Are you saying that Harry Potter is just a work of fiction, therefore it is incapable of containing any morals?

Wow.

That very often, doing the right thing is harder than doing the wrong thing.
1 Peter 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
It also teaches us that a person's status in society doesn't give any indication as to whether they are good people or not.
Mark 12:38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
Mark 12:39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
Mark 12:40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

I mean tell me something from HP that you can't get from the Bible.

Other than teaching children how to cast spells and such.

I wonder if HP teaches children how much they can beat their slaves?

I agree. Like much fiction, the Bible contains morals and lessons to learn. (Although I find it curious that the Bible breaks the old writer's maxim of "show, don't tell...) Of course, one would think that being the work of God, or inspired by God, or whatever you want to say, that it would contain things that could never be found in works of fiction by humans, but...

And you really think the spells and that in Harry Potter are real? lol

... the Devil is making sure that won't happen.

To the OP I believe in Eden, the fall, abiogenesis and theistic evolution AND a naturalist interpretation of evolution. I just don't care too much for standard consistency. If you wanted a rationale, I'd say that presuppositions change the nature of the world view, there are multiple reasonable presuppositions which I can believe in after so many weird and wonderful experiences, and also so many ordinary ones. I tend to believe Eden was on another plane though, rather than Earth level history.

Yes, I'm sure that God is so upset that the Devil is making sure he can't get the Bible just the way he wants it.

That's a bit of an odd statement for you to make, someone who believes KJV only!

Oh, we're discussing Our Satanic Witchcraft Book, aka HP. Cool. :p

No, AV, it doesn't teach children how to cast spells. There was this website I saw, it was rather funny, of somebody "trying" to cast spells, and it turned out that standing in the dark waving a stick and shouting "LUMOS! LUMOS! HOCUS-POCUS!" just makes you sound stupid. (It was a rebuttal of fundamentalists' freak-outs about HP.)
