CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

thanks!!! fought hard enough with paintshop to get the writing in...
for the basic peicing together the picture blocks, i did that in paint (plain old included with windows paint) cuz it's simpler, at least when you dont know paintshop!!!
any suggestions?

In Paintshop, click file, then new. Before anything opens, it will ask you for the size. Change the size to a large format, that way you can put whatever you want in. You can crop it later. Anything specific you need help with?

My suggestion is to learn Photoshop. It's way better than MS Paint once you know how to use it.

i'm curious which font all this little avatars use that have the all caps, small, very square.... they also have a little black border around each letter, i think, so they show up on anything.... i'd like to know how to do that.
and i'd like to do some basic animated avs... i havent a clue what programs i need to do that!!!!
i've gotten so good an handling MSpaint, cus my old puter was a fuddy duddy and i was desperate to get "graphic-ing"... i have some mean backgrounds i did on that. but now with my able-bodied new puter all the options overwhelm me!!!!!
i dont know where to start!!!!

The black border is shadow. Go to Layer, Layer Style, Blending Options. You can view the pic as you play with shadows and glow and such, and change it until you get it the way you want it. Then click ok and it will change. If you don't like it, click Edit, Undo and try something different.
To create animated gifs, you can use ImageReady, which should have come with Photoshop. This is a bit more complicated. I've done some things, but it can be tedious and time consuming. But once you get the hang of it, it can be fun.

paintshop ( i dont have photoshop) came with "Jasc Animation Shop". is that similar, you think?

use it and abuse it. push it to it's physical and mental limits, that's the only way to learn.
