That vet should not ever have been allowed to practice.
Never have any of my animals EVER gone through that when they were put to sleep and I have had many over my life.
Even my two horses went quietly and calmly.
I am so very sorry that was your, and your precious dog's last experience.
Even though it was so horrible your presence there with your dog was important and I believe firmly that our animals are reunited with the Lord who created and gave them to us.
After all they didn't sin, we brought all that on the world through Adam.
There will be a wonderful reunion and your dog will has no recollection of that incompetent, awful vet.
So think on that rather than that awful memory.
