My Eve Challenge

OK, there. It started as a "challenge" without any sort of challenge, but instead a couple of verses from genesis about cloning and ribs (no eyes). Now it's devolved into some sort of bible study. I thought this sub-forum was about creationism v. evolution not general bible study.

Acts 17:11 These [Bereans] were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

.. meanwhile scientific thinkers reference reputable scientific papers .. (but they don't have to believe them).

Science builds on objective evidence, however.

Because I only wanted two options, and I knew if I made it NO, instead of OTHER, people would chime in with all sorts of exceptions.

Are you a true skeptic? one who refuses to believe anything on principle, with the expectation that said refusal will open his mind to deeper revelations?

The Bereans didn't depend on commentaries. Why didn't you just post the next verse?

[Gen 2:23 NIV] 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."

....I remember it as, "God said it, I believe it, that settles it."

Where did all that come from? (Certainly not me!)

See, the evidenced options involve two distinct processes by which any truth can be arrived at .. either by way of belief (eg: the way you're assuming is already 'in train' your question), or by way of evidence produced from objective tests (ie: a reality check).

Your question of: 'Do you believe ..{anything}' presupposes I care about believing .. I don't care about beliefs (including my own .. even in the case of where/if I happen to choose to do so).
So my response would be more about the belief part .. than being about whether or not poor old Adam's rib was used to create Eve!
