What do you mean by powerful?

Does he preach the TRUTH of THE GOSPEL or is he just a charismatic speaker?

He preaches the truth of the Gospel. He is also very good at poking holes in Pentecostal sacred cows. When I used the word "powerful" I didn't mean it in a Charismatic sense. I meant it because he made me go and have some good talks with God in prayer over many things he said. When a preacher makes you want to pray, then he is powerful.

I hope sharing my OB death experiences help you feel less stigmatized "lostgirl 101". Just wanted you to know you're not alone.

One thing I can assure you, is that there are no angels in heaven, or demons in hell, or even Satan himself who can resurrect the dead.. Only the Creator can do that !

Do you think their movement is full of deception? I've read about a lot of false miracles going on there.

How do you define "false miracles" Either a miracle is a miracle or not. If that miracle relieves a person's suffering or sets a person free from demonic influence, or helps a person pay the bills, and at the same time glorifies Christ and causes people to accept Christ as Saviour, then how could a miracle like that be false?

To me, a "false miracle" in a Pentecostal or Charismatic church is when a person is told that they have been healed or set free by faith when the actual thing has not happened. To me, a person suffering from cancer is either healed or not healed. To say a person is healed when he or she is still in pain and xrays reveal the cancer is still there, is a false miracle to me. When Jesus healed it was wham bang, and the sickness, disease, or disability disappeared right away. He had none of this, "You are healed by faith, brother" while the person walks away still sick to come back for prayer next Sunday and every other Sunday after that with no perceptible results. That's like the story of the Emperor's new clothes!

A false miracle would be something of a demonic nature. Like it's not the same as God doing a miracle, but it is something beyond nature-so I think the proper term would be a false miracle.

Did you know that the British healing evangelist Smith Wigglesworth brought back 21 people from the dead during his ministry in the first half of the 20th Century. These are well documented and true. His wife collapsed and died at the door of the church. He brought her body home and raised her from the dead. She said, "Why have you brought me back? It is time for me to go." Then he released her to the Lord and she then died again. That was well documented by a number of witnesses who were present.

I agree that it wasn't the man who raised those people from the dead. It was the Holy Spirit working in conjunction with his faith that caused the results.

Ok. So how would you more fully describe a false miracle as compared to a genuine miracle brought about by the Holy Spirit? For example, do you think that someone being healed of a disease or a disability is a false miracle? How about a person who is released from a spirit of depression or some other spirit that might cause mental illness? (I'm not saying that all mental illness is the result of demons). Do you think that casting out of demons could be a false miracle? The pharisees thought so because they accused Jesus of casting out demons through the power of the devil. Do you think that could happen today like that? But what about Jesus' reply to that where He said that Satan cannot cast out Satan, otherwise his kingdom would be divided, and a divided kingdom cannot stand.

I think if we are going to talk about true and false miracles we need to define them so that readers can understand fully what we are talking about. I know that there are those who believe and teach that Pentecostal and Charismatic miracles are generally false, but they have no objective proof of that, and if that is so, those teachers are just speaking out of their backsides.

Even Jesus said, "I can do nothing without the Father" (John 5:18, 30).

Clearly if Jesus can not perform any miracle without God, neither can any man.

That's why Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to fill the disciples on the Day of Pentecost. Miracles are performed by the Holy Spirit working through the person who believes.

Hi. I hope this is in the correct category. I need your opinions on something. Several years ago, when I was in high school I took a swim class, which was required at the time for everyone. I didn't know how to swim, so I stuck to the shallow end. When I was moving around, I noticed I didn't feel heavy at all. I looked around and saw everyone was staring at something in the deep end. It was me floating face down. Someone had been goofing around and knocked me in. I had hit my head on the way in the pool.

Then I saw two spirits come out of some kind of portal. One had a white like aura (but not brilliant) the other had a black aura (but not too dark). The lighter spirit claimed he was an angel. He said he didn't know who the other guy was (who didn't reveal himself). He tried to convince me to get back in my body. Maybe I would have a chance to survive this way. I told them I couldn't swim. They didn't seem too concerned. This was before I was officially a christian. I believed in God at the time, but wasn't officially saved. One of them said I was going to hell anyway, so what difference did it make if I lived or not. The other simply shrugged. I was so upset by this guy I tried to leave, he stopped me. This is the only time he interacted with me. The so called angel didn't seem to care if I lived or if I was going to hell. This upset me a great deal. I suggested someone jump in and save me. The one with the dark aura acted like that was a great idea and laughed. He whispered something to someone who finally jumped in and gave me CPR. I didn't remember this for a few weeks after. (maybe cause I had hit my head).

To this day I don't know if I encountered angels, demons or what. It couldn't have been a hallucination from my head blow, cause it was too vivid. I was wondering what you all think? This has bothered me since it happened. Do angels just not care like we thought? If I had been saved, would I have mattered more? Was I deceived? Where was God in all of this?

I think it was a hallucination.

There are "miracles" demons and Satan can manifest (I've seen it personally), but even these miraculous powers are God given and subject to the Will of God and his restrictions, as everything that exists is subject to the Will of God.

People often ask why God allows evil to exist ? Why does God allow Satan and demons to prey on mankind ? I think Job answered that question whenever it was put to him.

"Shall we accept only good from God, and not the bad" (Job 2:10).

Who are we to question the Creator, or his Wisdom ? God made the same point with Jonah when he rebuked Jonah for questioning God's plan (Jonah 4:6-10).

"Shall the clay say to the one who forms it, "What makest thou" ? (Isaiah 45:9)

What is the purpose of them? jealousy of God? Leading people astray?

Demons don't prefer to advertise their existence. Stan's biggest trick, was convincing the world he doesn't actually exist. That's generally where he likes to keep it. A covert sort of operation.

This being said, there are exceptions when evil makes its' presence known. This most often occurs whenever someone intervenes to rescue someone else who is under some demonic influence. I call it the "Hollywood" effect. It's meant to instill terror.

Things like objects flying off walls, furniture being moved, disembodied voices, cold spots, feelings of suffocation, door slamming, religious relics on walls being turned upside down, people speaking words backwards, or speaking in foreign tongues, private information about yourself being revealed as a method of attack, people falling on the ground experiencing seizures, and of course the slaughter of family pets where all their bones are broken and their heads are grotesquely turned around backwards. I've witnesses all of this and more, and it is quite frightening to the uninitiated !

If you PM me I'll be happy to explain some of biblical methods for "exorcism". Unfortunately, for liability issues, CF rules prohibit the discussion of exorcism methods in open forums, (even those directly described in the Gospel).

Of all the miracles Jesus performed, exorcism was by far one of the most frequent. It's all there, you can read about it for yourself in the NT.

What do you mean liability issues? Are you referring to the law?

Yes. Specifically personal injury law liability. Some of the methods of exorcism used by certain religious sects can be injurious, gruesome, barbaric and medieval. I strictly only employ biblical methods.
