Hi All,
I know it been a while since I have been on here, but I want to thank everyone for being there and praying for me. 2011 has been a year of hell for me, but it has come with a sweet end.
My ex-wife kept on dragging out our divorce so she could put off paying her portion of the marital debt and use me for my health insurance, while collecting unemployment to avoid having to go to work. She dragged it out for 1 year 9 months for a divorce that had no assests, no kids, and only debt to be split. So in order to end my divorce I decided to take responsibility for her portion of the debt. Had it gone to court she could have ended up with judgement ranging between $8k to $17k, because of all the expenses that I had incurred from her shenanigans through out our divorce. She basically used me as nothing more than welfare office and did everything she could to avoid responsibility.
I only decided to end it, because the judge didn't care about the letter of the law, he just wanted to let the divorce drag out until one of us settled so he didn't have to make a decision. So basically I got hosed and learned a tough lesson to be very careful to whom you choose to marry. I am also glad to say that I fought to save my marriage and was given peace from God himself when our marriage finally ended and the divorce began. I was basically used and abused (please feel free to read my prior threads if you want to have a background), but I am thankful that God provided a way out from a terrible marriage.
The other reasons why 2011 was so bad was that I had to deal with layoff threats while supporting her and paying the bills she left behind. On top of that, a girl I had dated for a while broke up with me when we were heading down to our vacation and on that same week the layoff notices went out. I never had so much stress in my entire life and I ended up with acid reflex, because of it :-(
The good news began during the last half of November of 2011 when the layoff notices were recinded. I then later found out that my ex-wife was denied legal aid, because she didn't qualify for it and that the divorce was slated to go trial, so it finally gave her the incentive to settle ASAP. Needless to say she settled quickly, because she knew I would bury her in court. In the end my divorce ended on 12/23 and just waiting for the official certificate. On top of that I ended up meeting a wonderful woman and we started dating not too long ago. I am so happy that there has been a good ending to such a terrible year
God Bless you all and happy new year,
