my daughter problem

hellow everybody,

i am happy to be with you. i will start my relation with you by posting my problem hoping that one could help me.

i have one daughter who is 3 years old, since she around 1 year old i see her always insert her hand in her panty with sexual moves, i tried to talk to her and shout sometime but she keeps doing these things.

Now she start embarras me with friends when she start doing this infront of them.

what to do or to which doctor i should take her?

welcome to CF . As to your daughters behavior. Tell her not to do that in front of people or she will loss a privelge like taking her teddy bear away for one night or not letting her watch her favorite tv program. KIds are going to invertigate themselves so it might just be that you can tell her she can play with herself in the bathtub or when she's on the toilet but, not anywhere else.

I was told close to the same thing. Children do investigate and to not make them feel bad about doing this. But you do need to teach them not to do it infront of others. Give her time outs, take away priveledges, but be consistent.

This is a perfectly normal thing for children to do, They are at an age of discovery and they are also able to distinguish the feeling that is involved with this type of behaviour. I had a daughter myself that did the same thing for several months til she was broke of the "activity" if you can say it that way. My ex wife and I accomplished this by the time outs and also by putting clothes on her that would not allow her do this. Try putting something on her like a bodysuit or a toddler onesie, Something that goes over her underwear and snaps together and will prevent this. I am not sure what else to suggest. It is something all children do at one time or another, Some for longer periods than others. One last thing tho, Try not to make a scene about her doing this in front of company. This only reenforces that its a "bad " thing and might make her do it more. I hope this helps.

I would have to agree completely. My sister did this at a young age and it is a period were they are discovering there bodies and what it is all about. If my sister did it in public my step-mom would give her a teddy bear, or if it was chilly put a blanket over her...If she is 3 she isnt going to understand what she is doing and why it is so wrong...Yelling may not be the answer...just give her something else for her to occupy her time...
