Sorry, Sarah, I'm in a bit of a hurry right now.so, not going to do the video game example with me, AV? I'm a tad disappointed in your lack of wanting to defend your assertion that being ignorant of the subject matter related to the opposing side can benefit someone in a debate.
Fair enough, but if you ever have the time, I'd love to quickly go through it.Sorry, Sarah, I'm in a bit of a hurry right now.
Okay.Fair enough, but if you ever have the time, I'd love to quickly go through it.
By faith.
How well is science doing it for you?Why would we put our faith in our ability to identify an inerrant text?
How well is science doing it for you?
No argument there. It's done a good job of showing that nothing should be taken as inerrant... everything should be put to the test.
No argument there.
Until, of course, it concludes the Bible is errant, then it goes too far.
It depends on who's grading the papers. That defeats the whole purpose, doesn't it?
"The Bible should be put to the test... but not if it's going to fail"?
It depends on who's grading the papers.
Some would fail the Bible because It says Jesus walked on water.
Others would fail the Bible because It says Jesus walked.
Just like It does here in Creation & Evolution, with scientific methodists grading It?In a literature/mythology class, the Bible gets passing marks.

I don't fail it with either of those. I fail it in how it thinks that breeding goats in front of branches can make their offspring striped. It depends on who's grading the papers.

If you were to ask Jacob how it happened, I'm sure he would tell you: GOD DID IT.I don't fail it with either of those. I fail it in how it thinks that breeding goats in front of branches can make their offspring striped.
Yeah, but the bible specifically says the way HE [Jacob] made them striped was through the breeding method, not because god made it so. God just made sure Jacob got the cattle (even though he kinda didn't deserve them, due to his trickery. Seriously, why is the guy that lied to Isaac to get a blessing, and purposely bred cattle to swindle his uncle, favored by a deity that is supposed to be good?). And if you bring up the whole Leah thing and how his uncle tricked him into having sex with her, I just have to say, it's one of those funny bible stories where a guy's trickery is returned unto him.If you were to ask Jacob how it happened, I'm sure he would tell you: GOD DID IT.
In fact, here are his very words to his wives ...
Genesis 31:9 Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.
So?Yeah, but the bible specifically says the way HE [Jacob] made them striped was through the breeding method,
Wouldn't shock me if the bible said both, but you are avoiding the previous biblical statement. So?
Did the walls of Jericho fall because they marched around them, or because GOD DID IT?
So?
Did the walls of Jericho fall because they marched around them, or because GOD DID IT?
Replace the word God with either the word Shamdu, FuFu or JuJu and you could be onto something.I would label that as the model of deistic creation, where God creates a primordial atom, then retreats into the background and lets nature do its thing.
