• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

My aunt killed herself three years ago today. I know that 3 years may seem like a long time, but it still hurts like it did the day that I found out that she died. I still miss her so much.. I have some people telling me that she went to hell, some telling me that she didn't. She was a very devoted Christian person. I wonder if I should ask my pastor what his thoughts are or just let it go. I don't know what to do.. Just if you can, please pray for me and my family.
God bless,
Kim

I understand how you feel. I lost my parents and sister 7 years ago and it still feels like it happened yesterday. As for the hell thing, I think you should ask you pastor. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

May she RIP and Rise in Glory

I know that 3 years may seem like a long time, but it still hurts like it did the day that I found out that she died. I still miss her so much..

I know what you mean. I have lost all four of my grandparents, and I still really miss my Grandaddy who died in 1998

I have some people telling me that she went to hell.

Ignore the insensitive jerks that are wrongly judging her. She is in God's hands.

She was a very devoted Christian person. I wonder if I should ask my pastor what his thoughts are or just let it go. I don't know what to do..

Go to your pastor and see if there are any suicide survivor groups in your area. You also might want to read Gloria Vanderbilt's book A Mother's Story. It is about her feelings about her son's suicide. It should really help you.

Just if you can, please pray for me and my family.

Done.

Thank you for all of the kind words. I will pick up that book the next time I am out. I am sorry for your loss. No matter what year someone dies, it still hurts. I don't know what I am saying, so just ignore all the ramblings.
