You would have a good and valid point, except for the fact that the 24 priestly courses are never mentioned in the Revelation, whereas the 12 disciples and the 12 tribes of Israel are. (see Rev. 21:14, 16). And irregardless of which of us are right about the significance of the number 24, either way 24 thrones are seen in the Kingdom Of God which is fast approaching.

The connection is that the 24 priestly leaders of the 24 courses of 24 each in the literal Temple were called elders. They represented the Priesthood of Israel. The 24 elders in Heaven sitting on thrones represent God's people who are called priests and kings. Kings sit on thrones.

How do you add tribes and disciples? Any third grade math student knows that you can't do it.

Like I said, either way it is a moot point as long as we agree that there are 24 thrones that rule with Jesus in the coming kingdom of God.
